Minimum of $15,000 per person / $30,000 per accident underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage. This type of bodily injury coverage pays the medical expenses for people who aren’t adequately insured.
Your insurance policy will cover up to these limits, but you or the driver at fault could be responsible for all bills that exceed this limit.
These minimum requirements will cover the basics in the event of an accident. If an uninsured or underinsured driver is hurt, he or she will also be covered. While it isn’t legal to drive without insurance or without meeting these minimums, there are uninsured and underinsured drivers on the road every day. It’s good to know your policy will cover you if theirs can’t.
