Monthly Teacher Appreciation Contest

Arizona personal injury attorneys Mark and Alexis Breyer, known as The Husband & Wife Law Team, have seen many teachers give their all to see that Arizona children get the best education they can. As parents of 8 kids themselves, they decided to give back to some of these amazing educators.

To show their appreciation to dedicated teachers in their community, Alexis and Mark Breyer founded The Husband & Wife Law Team’s Teacher Appreciation Program in 2010. The program awards one teacher per month $500 for classroom supplies and includes extras such as a commemorative plaque and a pizza party for their entire class. All Arizona teachers from elementary through high school are eligible to be nominated.

Mark and Alexis feel strongly about supporting teachers who do so much for their kids. "We have seen so many teachers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to see that our children get the best education they can,” they stated. “So, we decided to give back to some of the most impactful teachers in Arizona."

Rewarding Teachers for their Extra Efforts

According to The Journal, public school teachers spent more than $1.33 billion out of their own pockets to supply their classrooms in the 2009-2010 school years nationwide. This number has continued to increase yearly as the back-to-school list gets longer for students and some families can’t afford to purchase all the classroom necessities. Expanding the Program With The Be Kind People Project

The Teacher Appreciation Program expanded at the start of the 2023-2024 school year, as The Husband & Wife Law Team and The Be Kind People Project teamed up to offer an additional opportunity for recipients of this award. Each winner is invited to submit an application essay for this additional contest.

For the essay selected as the grand prize winner, The Husband & Wife Law Team sponsors the winner’s school with the “Be Kind School” designation, a comprehensive year-round solution to integrate evidence-based character education into the school culture. The Be Kind People Project will deliver all the tools needed to incorporate the Be Kind Pledge, including an all-school assembly, classroom materials, and much more!
