Three people were seriously injured in a Glendale car accident, which may have been caused by a defective front tire of a Ford F-350 pickup truck. According to a news report in The Arizona Republic, the serious injury accident occurred at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Glen Harbor Boulevard. The driver of the Ford F-350 was not injured when his vehicle veered out of control and crashed into a Chevy HHR. The two men and one woman inside the Chevy were seriously injured and transported by helicopter to Phoenix hospitals. An investigation of the Glendale defective tire accident is ongoing.
Defective tires are some of the most dangerous and common defective auto products that can result in catastrophic injuries or even fatalities. Back in 2000 and 2001, Firestone issued massive recalls after their tires caused numerous fatal accidents. Cooper Tires and Dean Tires also have recently been investigated for tire tread separation issues. Whenever a tire causes a serious accident, it must be determined if the tire was defective and if the part manufacturer may be held liable for the damages suffered.
Holding a defective product manufacturer liable for an injury accident is not easy and it often requires the services of a skilled and knowledgeable products liability lawyer. An experienced lawyer will work with investigators to prove the exact cause of the crash as well as who should be held liable for damages and losses caused as a result.
