Bust out your journal, because the Husband and Wife Law Team Scholarship is back for the 2020 school year! We are offering two exemplary students a $1,000 scholarship each – one to a student from our home state of Arizona, and one to a student from anywhere else in the country!
Having raised college-aged children of their own, Mark and Alexis Breyer have learned first-hand how expensive post-secondary education has become. Because of this, our Phoenix personal injury firm has chosen to support two students in furthering their education with this award.
All applications are due on May 5, 2020, and we will reveal the finalists on May 19. From that selection of students, we will announce a pair of winners on June 2.
How Do I Apply for the HWLT Scholarship?
To apply, you must fulfill each of the following criteria:
Be a high school senior on track to graduate or college student in good standing with their school
Have at least a 3.0 GPA
Be an American citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient
Be enrolled in or accepted into a 2 or 4-year college
But the most important part of this award is your 500-1,000 word personal essay:
The Husband and Wife Law Team has met numerous individuals who studied one subject in college but practiced another for their career. They have known mathematicians who became artists, biologists who practiced psychiatry, and engineers who started small businesses. We want to know how YOU intend to use what you learn in college and where you think it will take you, even if it’s a different field.
Feel free to read the winners of our 2019 scholarship for inspiration. Once you have completed your essay (and proofed it, of course) filled out the application form, and submitted it to our scholarship page by May 5, you’re done! We will be contacting all finalists a few weeks before choosing the winners to confirm specific details and verify their eligibility.
