Public School Teachers Spent Over $1.33 Billion to Supply Classrooms:
According to The Journal, during the 2009-2010 school year, public school teachers spent over $1.33 billion out of their own pockets to supply their classrooms, and the amount continues to increase each year. The Husband & Wife Law Team's Teacher Appreciation Program recognizes and rewards exemplary Arizona teachers. Each month one Arizona teacher is chosen as teacher of the month and awarded a $250 gift card for classroom supplies. Mark Breyer said, "We have eight kids going to Arizona schools, and we've seen countless teachers go above and beyond. We wanted to give back to those teachers who give so much to Arizona's children."
