Middle school teacher receives surprise celebration during school assembly
We’re kicking off the new school year with our August Teacher Appreciation Award! To start off a new season of recognizing excellence in our school systems, we’re celebrating Mr. Knowles, a history teacher at Val Vista Academy in Gilbert, Arizona.
Mr. Knowles studied at the University of Wyoming and has been teaching at Val Vista Academy for over seven years. Throughout his time, he has gone above and beyond to encourage students to volunteer as active members of their community. His dedication also led him to implement the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) at Val Vista, continuing to create meaningful opportunities for students to demonstrate leadership and commitment.
It was so wonderful getting to highlight such an impactful member of our community. We had the honor of presenting Mr. Knowles with a commemorative plaque, a $500 check, and the opportunity for a future ice cream party with his students. As fun as it was to honor this amazing educator, it was even more special to surprise him with this honor during a school-wide assembly.
